Established in 2010, 1205 focuses on quality of cut, fabric and proportion.
Designed by Paula Gerbase, the mens and womens collections continuously evolve 1205’s distinctive and intellectually focused aesthetic.
Collaborating with highly specialised mills in England, France, Switzerland, Italy and Japan, Central St Martins alumna Gerbase explores exacting cuts in tactile fabrics to present an austere vision of form captured through precision and technique.
During a BA in Womenswear at Central St Martins, Gerbase became conscious of the creative freedom that mastery of technique would facilitate. This led to six years working on Savile Row, where she immersed herself in a forgotten world of rigorous craft and absolute attention to detail.
Directly Following her time on Savile Row, Gerbase launched 1205, which gained almost instantaneous attention from the most prestigious stores in Japan, including United Arrows, Isetan, Beams and Dover Street Market. Quickly followed by worldwide stockists such as Browns, 10 Corso Como and Net A Porter and attention from revered International publications, 1205 was awarded 6 consecutive Newgen awards and a nomination for a prestigious British Fashion Award.
Gerbase’s eye for detail, unwavering architectural hand and uncompromising ability to turn the complex into the seemingly simple continues to intrigue, and has led 1205 to a cult following amongst those in the know.
